A representative of the U.S. Embassy, Aigul Zholdasbayeva — Coordinator for Public Relations and Cultural Programs — visited Zhangir Khan University and introduced the university staff to Emma Taylor, a Fulbright Program scholar, jointly implemented by the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by the university’s Vice-Rector for Research Alzhan Shamshidin, staff of the International Cooperation Department, institute directors, as well as young scientists who completed internships in the United States under the “Bolashak” program.
Embassy representative A. Zholdasbayeva noted that during last year’s working visit to WKATU, the U.S. Ambassador highly praised the university’s educational process, scientific potential, and international initiatives. As a result, it was decided to assign another Fulbright scholar to this institution. Emma Taylor, a U.S. citizen who arrived in Uralsk under the program, expressed her gratitude to the university staff for the warm welcome and shared her enthusiasm to work actively throughout the upcoming year.
In turn, Vice-Rector A. Shamshidin conveyed the university administration’s gratitude to the U.S. Embassy.
Throughout the new academic year, foreign expert E. Taylor will not only work on improving the English proficiency of students and faculty members, but also contribute to strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.
