Zhangir Khan University hosted a traditional sports event for first-year students called “Sergek Bol.”
The opening ceremony, held on Saturday, was attended by Akylbek Sultanov, Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Work of the University, Orynbasar Gilimov, Director of the Oral City Sports Club, as well as teachers and students.
During the ceremony, the students performed morning exercises and energized themselves before the competitions began. Participants of the Sergek Bol event then competed in eight different sports.
As a result, the team of the Faculty of Humanities, Sports, and Military Training won 1st place in men’s and women’s volleyball, men’s basketball, table tennis, arm wrestling, and togyzkumalak. The Polytechnic Institute team dominated the tug-of-war competition, while students of the Industrial and Technological Institute emerged victorious in football. Athletes from the Institute of Economics and Sustainable Development secured 1st place in chess, and female students from the Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Agrotechnology took 1st place in basketball.
