Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals

The Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals was established by the order of the Rector of West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University named after Zhangir Khan №3 §8 dated 03.03.2025. The Working Group organizes the development of strategies and policies for the sustainable development of the University and ensures their implementation.

The functional responsibilities of the working group on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at the university include the following range of tasks and activities aimed at implementing and supporting the principles of sustainable development in an educational institution:

– actively participates in the development and implementation of the University’s strategy aimed at achieving the set goals of sustainable development;

– analyzes existing educational and scientific projects for compliance with the principles of sustainable development, and also offers recommendations for their improvement and adaptation in the context of the SDG;

– coordinates the work of various departments of the university for the implementation of projects related to the SDG;

– оrganizes regular meetings and working groups to discuss current initiatives and ideas, and ensures effective interaction between institutions, administrations and other stakeholders;

– collects and systematizes data on the progress of projects, which includes the preparation of analytical reports and presentations for the university management;

– monitors and evaluates the results of projects aimed at achieving the SDGs;

– develops performance indicators and standard methodologies for assessing the impact of ongoing initiatives on the sustainable development of the university;

– monitors progress and prepares recommendations for adjusting strategies and goals;

            – organizes educational events, seminars and trainings for university staff and students to raise their awareness of the principles of sustainable development;

– develops educational materials and programs with other departments that include sustainable development topics in the educational process;

– establishes and maintains partnerships with other educational institutions, government agencies and non-governmental organizations in the field of sustainable development;

– represents the university at conferences and forums, shares experiences and best practices, and actively participates in international projects related to the SDGs.

The Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals is a structural unit of the University. The head of the group is appointed and reports directly to the Rector of the University.
