Objects of research, development or design: The technological process of sowing seeds of various crops with simultaneous application of mineral fertilizers.

The purpose of the project / program: Increasing the yield of various crops and reducing competition between seeds for nutrients by developing a working body of a seeder for zero farming with an automated dosing device system for sowing seeds of various crops with simultaneous application of mineral fertilizers.

Project / Program Tasks

1. Create a wavy seedbed by improving the working body of the seeder and substantiating its optimal parameters so that the seeds after leaving the seed duct are located in the wavy seedbed and do not move further.

2. To justify the parameters of the ripper of the disc coulter to improve the ability to go deeper to the desired depth while minimizing traction resistance.

3. To develop a parallel mechanism for the working body so that the disc coulter with a ripper is deepened to a depth of 70 mm.

4. Develop a group of seed ducts for feeding seeds from a dosing device to a wavy seedbed.

5. To develop a six-row seeder for conducting field experiments.

6. To develop an automated system for a six-row seeder of zero agriculture, depending on the speed of movement of the machine and tractor unit for accurate dosing of seeds and mineral fertilizers.

7. To justify the parameters of the rolling device for compacting the soil after applying fertilizers and seeds.

8. Cost calculation and assessment of potential savings.

9. Analysis of the cost of production and implementation of the proposed seeder.

10. Prepare documentation of a zero-tillage planter for subsequent commercialization of the project.

Achieved Results and Novelty

Zero tillage systems on seeders will allow you to add both seeds and seeds in combination with granular fertilizers. The method of applying granular fertilizers together with seeds is determined by the design of the coulters used by the zero tillage system. The distribution of granular fertilizers depends on the location of the seeds. The introduction of granular fertilizers and seeds to different depths is carried out by disc coulters. The technological process of the proposed sowing method is carried out by simultaneously embedding tuks of granular fertilizers to a greater depth than the seeds of the sown crops, i.e. a multi-level method of embedding tuks and seeds into the soil. The developed new two-disc coulter is designed for sowing seeds in a horizontal strip with a width of 12 cm, and granular fertilizers are 2 cm more than the specified depth of seed embedding and at the same time ensures the location of tuks in the middle of the strip.

Expected Results

1. Development of a working body with reasonable parameters that ensures the delay of seeds in the wavy seedbed after their exit from the seed duct.

2. Reasonable parameters of the disc coulter ripper having the ability to go deep to the desired depth and at the same time minimizing traction resistance.

3. Development of a six-row seeder for zero farming with a parallel mechanism for the working body.

4. Development of a group of seed ducts providing seed supply from a dosing device to a wavy seedbed.

5. Development of a prototype of a six-row zero-farming seeder for conducting field experiments.

6. Development of an automated system with a touch screen of a six-row zero-farming seed drill with precise dosing of seeds and mineral fertilizers depending on the speed of the machine and tractor unit.

7. Reasonable parameters of the rolling device after applying fertilizers and seeds to the soil.

8. Registration of at least one patent for an invention (including a positive decision on it) at the National Institute of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

9. Publication of one scientific article (or) review in peer-reviewed scientific publications indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded and included in the 1st (first) and (or) 2nd (second) quartile by impact factor in the Web of Science database and (or) having a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database of at least 65.

10. The dissemination of the results of the program will be carried out by publishing articles in scientific publications and through the mass media. New knowledge and developed scientific and methodological foundations for the creation of a zero-farming seeder will be used for the further development of agricultural science, and will also become an incentive for the development of agricultural engineering and agricultural production in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

11. Prepared documentation of the zero farming seeder for the subsequent commercialization of the project.

12. The implementation of the project will allow to train at least two young scientists, including a PhD and a Master of agriculture.
