On november 4, a meeting of rectors of universities of the western region was held at the Zhangir khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical university.
The main goal is to implement the address of the head of state and the concept of development of higher education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029, to activate the active work of the council.
The main reason for organizing the first visiting meeting of the council in Uralsk, including at Zhangir Khan university with a sixty-year history, is connected with the historical date of the university. Therefore, first of all, the chairman of the board-rector of Zhangir khan university Askar Nametov, showed hospitality to the guests and presented commemorative gifts. In turn, the heads of universities also expressed their warm wishes and congratulated the staff of WKATU.
Then the chairman of the сouncil of rectors of universities of the Western region, rector of Atyrau university of oil and gas named after S.Utebayev Gulzada Shakulikova made a speech. – We set ourselves a common goal and objectives, discussing certain issues at today’s first meeting. At the next meeting, we will get acquainted with the progress of these works.
At the meeting, the rector of the universities jointly discussed such issues as the development of industrial science in Western Kazakhstan, scientific collaboration, joint participation in mega-grants, the scientific and technical potential of the university in the development of the region’s economy. Rectors of regional universities, noting the high scientific potential of Zhangir khan university, expressed interest in a number of scientific projects and proposed further joint work on the commercialization of projects.
At the end of the meeting, the rectors of other educational institutions expressed gratitude to the leadership of Zhangir khan ZKATU, who organized the first meeting of the Council. The parties expressed confidence that this initiative will contribute to the unification of efforts and the opening of new scientific projects.
The participants came to a common decision on the organization of a quarterly meeting of rectors of universities in the Western region. The next visiting meeting of the council will be held in January 2024 in Atyrau region.
