The Institute of Veterinary Medicine and Agrotechnology of Zhangir Khan University hosted problem lectures on the disciplines of «Plant Protection» and «Soil Science».
The lectures were held for students of the 2nd and 4th courses of the OP “6b08100 – Agronomy” under the guidance of PhD, acting associate Professor Layla Kalieva and Master’s degree, senior lecturer Mendigul Kuanalieva. The students attended lectures delivered by Arthur Toktamysovich Zhiengaliev, the regional director of Nazar Agro Trade LLP in the West Kazakhstan region, on the topics «Main Protective Measures Against Harmful Organisms of Agricultural Crops» and «Problems of Dark Chestnut Soil Fertility in the Arid Climate of Western Kazakhstan and Ways to Improve It». They received comprehensive information on the harmfulness and characteristics of the spread of harmful organisms of agricultural crops in the West Kazakhstan region, methods of protecting plants from pests and diseases, as well as the most effective ways to increase soil fertility in the conditions of Western Kazakhstan. In addition, the students got acquainted with the company’s equipment through video materials and saw how it is used in practice. At the end of the problem-oriented lectures, the future specialists openly asked questions they were interested in and showed great interest in their profession.
