On November 15, Zhangir Khan University hosted a large-scale event under this name in honor of World Waste Recycling Day.
The event was organized by the Institute of Digital Economy and Sustainable Development. The purpose of the event is to discuss the role of recycling in shaping the ecological culture of young people. Establish cooperation between government agencies, educational institutions, businesses and NGOs. To exchange successful practices and ideas on involving young people in waste recycling projects.
First, a panel discussion was held with the participation of university staff, specialists from the Department of Ecology for the West Kazakhstan Region, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the West Kazakhstan Region, as well as representatives of enterprises on the topic “Recycling as an element of environmental education.” In the second part of the event, the guests got acquainted with the works of the participants of the exhibition-competition “From waste to Art: exhibition of ideas for a sustainable world” for schoolchildren and students of the educational program “Industrial Ecology” of WKATU. Here, young people presented their handmade products and business projects created from various household waste. The best works were awarded by Zhangir Khan University and processing enterprises.
