SDG 2. Ending hunger consists of 13 national indicators (https://stat.gov.kz/ru/sustainable-development-goals/goal/2/). The indicators of this SDG, which can be used to track changes over the period under review, show mostly positive dynamics. Thus, indicator 2.1.1 “Prevalence of malnutrition, percentage” decreased from 4.6% to 1.4%. At the same time, the indicator “The share of provision of the domestic market with food products of domestic production” requires special attention. According to this indicator, unstable dynamics is observed. For example, in 2022, the share of domestically produced sugar was 42.6%, in 2023 – 51%, in 2024 – 44%.
By the end of 2023, the domestic market is 100% or more secured for 11 commodity items (wheat flour, salt, bread, rice, pasta, sunflower oil, potatoes, lamb, beef, carrots, cucumbers), and 80% or more secured for 13 foodstuffs (chicken eggs, horse meat, tomatoes, milk, buckwheat groats, cabbage, pepper, pork, onion, beetroot, fermented dairy products, butter, apples). There is import dependence on 5 food products (poultry meat (73%), sausages (60%), fish (54%), cheeses and cottage cheese (57%), sugar (42%).
