Objects of research, development or design: estuaries
The aim of the project / program is to develop technologies for improving the ecological and meliorative state and increasing the productivity of estuaries
1. Assessment of the ecological-hydrogeological-meliorative state of estuaries based on studies of soil indicators, the composition of the dominant taxa of microbiomes, hydrogeological and hydrochemical characteristics of groundwater, the regime and frequency of flooding, the qualitative composition of herbage.
2. Study of the influence of techniques for maintaining the water-salt regime of the soil and increasing the productivity of natural herbage on the ecological-hydrogeological-meliorative state of estuaries.
3. Substantiation of the influence of the landscape-ecological approach to the reclamation of estuarine lands on the maintenance of an optimal ecological-reclamation situation and restoration of the productivity of the natural herbage of degraded areas of the estuary.
More than 70% of engineering estuaries are flooded with violation of technological regimes.
Due to long-term flooding in the conditions of natural relief, an uneven impact on the landscape of the area occurs, which leads to a change in the water-salt balance of the territory, degradation of valuable plant species, and a decrease in the productivity of the natural herbage of estuaries.
Such a model of the development of secondary salinization processes was not considered during the design period and criteria for the intensity of the impact of estuarine irrigation on the formed estuarine agricultural landscape were not developed for these soil reclamation conditions.
These studies will be aimed at developing technologies to improve the ecological and meliorative state and increase the productivity of estuaries.
Currently, the use of modern methods of high-performance sequencing with the combination of traditional methods of soil science will allow a more informative study of the distribution of soil microorganisms to justify solutions to improve the ecological and reclamation state of agricultural landscapes.
The substantiation of the landscape-ecological approach to the reclamation of estuarine lands on the ecological-hydrogeological-meliorative state of estuaries, based on the established norms of the natural object, standardized parameters of the territory, the interval of their natural fluctuations, is a new level in scientific research, has significant scientific and technical potential.
The study of the microbial community on estuarine landscapes in conditions of long-term flooding, the change of which is an important symptom of violations of the natural processes of maintaining soil fertility, will have a significant impact on the level of research and scientific and technical potential.
The use of modern methods of high-performance sequencing with the combination of traditional methods of soil science in assessing the ecological and reclamation state of estuarine landscapes is a new and promising area of research.
