Objects of research, development or design: Adai type of Kazakh horse

The purpose of the project / program: the aim of the project is to study the associations between genotypes and productive traits in the kazakh horse of the adai type in order to optimize breeding programs and improve productive traits

Project / Program Tasks

1. Collect and annotate phenotypic data, including animal productive traits

2. Implementation of genotyping of representatives of the Kazakh horse of the Adai type

2.1 Identification of gene variants and genetic markers associated with productive traits in representatives of the Kazakh horse of the Adai type.

3. Analyze genotypic and phenotypic data to identify statistically significant associations.

3.1 Perform bioinformatic analysis of detected genetic variants

4. Provide recommendations for breeders aimed at improving the productive traits of the Kazakh horse of the Adai type.

Achieved Results and Novelty

The idea of the scientific project is to identify genomic markers associated with productive traits of the Kazakh horse of the Adai type using SNP genotyping technology. The Adai type of Kazakh horse differs from others in its adaptability to harsh steppe conditions and adaptation to life in a herd, and is also of interest for its productive traits.

The project covers a wide range of research, combining knowledge from genetics, animal science and bioinformatics.

Expected Results

1. A study of the genetic diversity of the Kazakh horse of the Adai type will be conducted in different regions of Kazakhstan using high-density genotyping;

2. To identify polymorphisms associated with economically significant traits in the Kazakh horse of the Adai type;

3. Genetic markers associated with the productive traits of the Kazakh horse of the Adai type will be identified and proposed for use.
