Social support for students

The university administration pays great attention to students from different social categories. Data on the number of students from orphanages, orphans, children left without parental care and children with disabilities are systematically collected in all schools of the University.

The priority areas of social protection of students at the university are:

• Providing assistance and support to children in orphanages, orphans, children left without parental care and children with disabilities.
• Creation of equal conditions and barrier-free access for students with special educational needs.
• Obtaining the priority right to obtain places in student dormitories is free of charge.
• Providing social and psychological assistance, social and medical support, and volunteer assistance to all socially vulnerable categories.
• Assignment of food allowances to orphaned children, students left without parental care, who are under guardianship, patronage and are pupils of orphanages.

2023-2024 academic year to study at the university:

Children of these 3 students are trained in the state educational grant, 2 students are trained on a flat basis in the amount of 50% for the completion of training, 1 student is produced for the financing of the fund «Қазақстан халқына».

In addition, the university trains students without leaving their parents, of which 8 students are trained under the state educational grant, 2 students are trained for financing the fund «Қазақстан халқына».

At the moment, 15 students with disabilities are studying at the university. Of these, 11 students study under a state educational grant, 1 student under a grant allocated by the university, 1 student studies on a fee basis, he is given a 35% discount on tuition fees, 1 student is trained by financing the «Қазақстан халқына», 1 student enrolled conditionally studies on a fee basis. The university has created conditions for them to receive education, and adapted educational programs are being implemented that take into account the specifics of diseases (QMS.08.PD.33., On the organization of educational activities for persons with special educational needs).

Conditions have been created for unhindered, safe and convenient movement, access to buildings and structures has been provided. The buildings of academic buildings and dormitories are provided with ramps, the entrances to them are equipped with special, fixed railings to assist people with disabilities.

As part of the social support program for students with special educational needs, the university provides:

• choosing the form of education;
• state scholarship in the amount of 75% – 1 visually impaired student;
• a 35% discount on tuition fees – 1 student with an OOP, studying on a fee basis;
• 15 students have free accommodation in the Houses of university students;
• assistance in the employment of graduates with disabilities.

Social assistance provided for the 2023-2024 academic year:

• 32 students are provided with free accommodation in the houses of university students;
• Within the framework of social support, a 50% and 35% discount was provided for tuition for 3 students;
• Orphan students (under guardianship) were provided with assistance in the form of funds for daily meals;
• Within the prescribed period, a one-time allowance has been assigned to students who have been left without parental care, are under guardianship, and are pupils of an orphanage:

1. Upon admission to a higher educational institution – 2 MCI 6,900 kzt.
2. Financial assistance was provided to students left without parental care, under guardianship, who are children of an orphanage, expenses for clothes, shoes (the total amount per student is 133,700 kzt).
