Achieved Results and Novelty

Achieved Results and Novelty

The main premise for the development of this project is that the annual increase in retail prices for electricity and fuel, which are used for irrigation and irrigation of crop products, forces agricultural producers to reduce production or raise prices for it. This, in turn, reduces the purchasing power of the population consuming these products. When using a wind-mechanical water lift, there are no energy costs and they will not be included in the cost of production, therefore it will have a lower price. This was one of the main motivations for designing this product.

The project is aimed at developing design and technological documentation, manufacturing a prototype and testing an installation for lifting water with a 3-cavity diaphragm pump of a wind turbine. The prerequisites for its implementation are the growing needs for efficient and sustainable sources of water supply, especially in a changing climate and limited water resources. Previous studies have shown that traditional water intake methods do not always meet the requirements of economic efficiency and sustainability. Our preliminary results confirm the possibility of using diaphragm pumps in combination with wind turbines, which significantly improves the efficiency of the water lifting process.

The scientific novelty of this project is the integration of a 3-cavity diaphragm pump with a wind turbine. A review of the literature shows that technologies for using renewable energy sources for various tasks are actively developing in the world, however, the use of wind energy for lifting water using diaphragm pumps remains an insufficiently studied area. A number of papers discuss certain aspects of pump operation, but there is no comprehensive approach to integration with wind turbines. The expected results of our project will include higher operating efficiency compared to traditional pumps, which is confirmed by preliminary calculations.

The scientific novelty of the project consists in the following points:

1) The use of a cam-lever mechanism with an eccentrically positioned roller to obtain a reciprocating motion of the drive to a 3-cavity water pump.

2) Creation of a 3-cavity diaphragm self-priming pump with a discharge valve.

The results of the project are of significant importance both at the national and international levels. In the context of global climate change, the social demand for sustainable water supply technologies is growing. The project helps to solve the problem of water supply in remote and rural areas of Kazakhstan, where traditional methods do not always work effectively. In addition, the introduction of innovative solutions will increase the competitiveness of domestic science and technology, stimulating the development of related industries such as agriculture and the environment.
