No poverty

SDG 1. Poverty eradication consists of 8 national indicators (https://stat.gov.kz/ru/sustainable-development-goals/goal/1/).  The value of one of the important national indicators that measures the level of poverty in the country, indicator 1.2.1 “Percentage of the population with incomes below the subsistence minimum” has been stable at 5.2% in recent years (2021-2023). According to the National Development Plan of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2029, the projected value of the indicator for 2025-2029 is 5% (annually).

The Zhangir Khan University implements this goal through:

• provision of benefits for tuition fees, free hostel accommodation for orphaned and disabled students;
• providing social support packages for employees with large or single-parent families.
