Between September 30 and November 12 of this year, Turan-Astana University organized the TAU Startup Battle / Student Startup Project Competition.
The goal of the competition was to identify and support promising student startup projects aimed at fostering technology development, entrepreneurship, and youth innovation. The team from the Business Incubator of Zhangir Khan University — master’s students Yernur Yermukhanov and Temirlan Tazhen — successfully passed all stages of the selection process and presented their innovative project at the final event held on November 12.
The project of our university’s Business Incubator team, titled «The Use of Drones and Artificial Intelligence for Monitoring Infrastructure and the Environment,» was awarded the Winner’s Diploma in the nomination «Level of Technological Advancement.». The project aims to enhance the efficiency of technical supervision and the level of environmental safety through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and intelligent data analysis algorithms. Among its key objectives are the development of an AI-based system for processing video data, the creation of a database of monitored objects and results, and the implementation of an automated notification and reporting system for clients.
The Head of the Office of Commercialization and Business Incubation, Gulshat Ayesheva, noted: «Participation of our incubator residents in such competitions is not only an opportunity to showcase their ideas but also an important step toward developing innovative thinking, entrepreneurial skills, and enhancing the university’s innovation potential. The victory of our team in the TAU Startup Battle is a result of the development of the university’s innovation ecosystem and a testament to the high level of preparation of our residents in the field of technological entrepreneurship».
