Today, the vice-rector for science of the Zhangir khan university Alzhan Shamsidin, participated in a roundtable discussion titled “Formation of eurasian competence centers in the field of breeding livestock”, organized by the Eurasian economic commission in Moscow. During this roundtable, Alzhan Smaiyluly presented a report on the topic “Management, preservation, and rational use of genetic resources of dairy cattle breeds through selective-technological and molecular-genetic methods”.
Issues were discussed: on optimizing the mechanisms of interstate cooperation in order to introduce technology for predicting the breeding value of farm animals based on genomic analysis; on the fundamental model of interstate cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union – the concept of managing breeding work during genomic breeding of cattle; on potential infrastructural, logistical and methodological projects in livestock breeding (status, problems and prospects); to create Eurasian competence centers for analytical, organizational, scientific and methodological support of breeding and breeding work with farm animals, advanced training of specialists from research and educational organizations and genetic laboratories.
