In order to glorify national values, a cultural event “Yrysyn shashkan gul koktem” was organized at the West Kazakhstan agrarian technical university named after Zhangir Khan.
At the opening ceremony, Nurzhanov Mirbolat, deputy akim of the Uralsk city, delivered a welcoming speech, who congratulated the university staff and students on the upcoming May 1 – Unity Day.
During the event, a group of faculty and staff was awarded letters of thanks from the Chairman of the Board-Rector Nametov Askar Myrzakhmetovich. Also at the solemn event, Beibit Nasiev, professor of the higher school “Technologies for the production of plant products”, was presented with a letter of thanks from the akim of the West Kazakhstan region.
Further, the guests of the holiday watched a concert program prepared by students of Zhangir Khan university. The collectives of institutes and centers were divided into yurts “Birlik auyly”, “Ak bidai auyly” and demonstrated Kazakh customs and traditions.
The national games did not stand aside either. In particular, such games as «Koy koteru», «Arkan tartys», «Asyk atu», «Audaryspak» were played, the winners were awarded by the vice-rector for educational and social work of the university Sultanov Akylbek.
At the end of the event, the guests tasted national dishes prepared by the university staff.
