A Museum Hour Was Held

A cultural and educational museum hour titled “The Melodic Sound of the Ringing Dombra” was held at the Zhangir Khan Historical and Ethnographic Museum in honor of the 165th anniversary of Dina Nurpeissova, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, an outstanding figure of Kazakh culture, a talented composer, and a virtuoso dombra player.

The event began with a short theatrical performance about the great kuyshi — teacher and student Kurmangazy and Dina — presented by the creative team of the H. Bokeeva Regional Kazakh Drama Theater. During the evening, speeches were delivered by Akylbek Sultanov, Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Affairs of Zhangir Khan University; Nurzhan Duzbatyrov, Deputy Director of the Regional Museum of History and Local Lore; and historian and lecturer Bagdagul Sissenova. The speakers emphasized the importance of the event and highlighted the special place of kuyshi Dina in Kazakh art. The program continued with musical performances by students of Secondary School No. 47 named after Kadyr Myrza Ali, members of a history and local studies club, as well as young performers from the Karakat School. Participants enjoyed listening to traditional kuis and were left with unforgettable impressions.
