Combat use of engineer-sapper (engineering) divisions, units and formations

The appointment
A reserve officer who has completed a military training course in the specialty "Combat use of engineer-sapper (engineering) units, units and formations" is prepared for military service in peacetime and in wartime in units and subdivisions of engineering troops, in primary officer positions.
Qualification Requirements
The reserve officer must:
  • have a high level of tactical, tactical-special, fire and technical training;
  •  have solid knowledge of basic and specialized disciplines, skills in applying this knowledge in practice;
  •  to be able to maintain high combat and mobilization readiness of the unit, firm military discipline and statutory order, to use the achievements of military pedagogy and psychology in the training and education of subordinates.
As a result of the study, the student must
To know:
  • engineering support of modern combined arms combat, organization of work on engineering support of combat;
  • purpose, tactical and technical characteristics of engineering equipment;
  • the procedure for the use of engineering equipment by engineering-sapper (engineering) subunits in combined arms combat; protective and camouflage properties of the terrain and their use to protect troops.
Be able to:
  • to set combat missions and give the necessary orders to the engineer-sapper (engineer) subdivision for the timely engineering support of combat operations;
  • to plan and develop combat documents for the commander of an engineering-sapper (engineering) subunit, to keep a working map of the commander in various types of combat;
  • organize and carry out activities for fortification equipment and camouflage of troops;
  • organize and supervise the operation of equipment, armament of the engineer-sapper (engineering) subdivision.
Develop skills:
  • in the training of a reserve officer of the engineering troops, who knows the organization and management of the work on engineering support of combat operations;
  • in the formations, the ability to manage the operation and repair of equipment, which is in service with engineering-sapper (engineering) units;
  • in carrying out the task of fortifying positions and areas where troops are located.
