SDG 15. The conservation of terrestrial ecosystems consists of 11 national indicators (https://stat.gov.kz/ru/sustainable-development-goals/goal/15/).  In general, there is a positive trend, with the exception of the indicator “Change in net forest area” (2020 – 195.1 thousand hectares, 2021 -318.4 thousand hectares, 2023 – 23.7 thousand hectares). The growth of the forested land area is +8% and amounts to 13.7 million hectares.

The University conducts research in the field of ecosystem protection, restoration and support. The university is committed to greening and maintaining the ecosystem of the campus. The University follows a policy of separate waste collection on the university and campuses. Pursues a policy to reduce plastic waste, as well as waste disposal, including hazardous waste.
