Objects of research, development or design:

  1. To study the patterns of changes in the colloidal-chemical state of silica in polysilicate solutions;
  2. To develop an optimal formulation of sol-silicate paint with improved performance properties;
  3. To investigate the operational durability of coatings based on sol-silicate paint.

The purpose of the project / program:

To develop a scientifically grounded rational technology for producing domestic sol-silicate paints for finishing building walls based on natural resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan with enhanced performance properties

Achieved Results and Novelty

The scientific novelty of the project lies in studying the patterns governing the state changes of silica in polysilicate solutions, which depend on a complex of factors: the content of alkaline sol of silicic acid, aging time of the solution, and various types of cations present in the alkali metals. Such research will make it possible to determine the composition and features of the fractional distribution of silico-oxygen anions in polysilicate solutions in relation to the cations of alkali metals.

Expected Results
  1. The patterns of changes in the colloidal-chemical state of silica in polysilicate solutions will be studied;
  2. Paint formulations based on local fillers will be developed;
  3. The influence patterns of various formulation-technological factors on the performance properties of coatings based on sol-silicate paint will be determined.
    According to the results, at least two (2) articles will be published in journals ranked in the top three quartiles by impact factor in the Web of Science database or with a CiteScore percentile of at least 50 in the Scopus database.
