1st International Scientific and Practical Conference

Dear Colleagues!

The Center for Sustainable Development of NJSC “Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University” cordially invites you to participate in the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “Climate and Sustainable Development: Challenges of the Future”, dedicated to International Climate Day.

The aim of the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “Climate and Sustainable Development: Challenges of the Future” is to establish an annual global platform for promoting research activities among undergraduate and graduate students in the fields of ecology and climate security.

The event is aimed at uniting the efforts of young scientists to find innovative solutions in adapting natural systems to climate change, introducing green economy technologies, and analysing the social responsibility of society in the context of global challenges.

The conference is focused on interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and the promotion of sustainable development strategies, providing participants with an opportunity to present their research free of charge and to publish their scientific findings in the conference proceedings.

Submission deadline: 25 April 2026.

Conference dates: 14–15 May 2026.

Participation format: Hybrid (in-person and online).

Working languages: Kazakh, Russian, English.

CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS:

  • Domestic and international scholars, researchers, and staff of research institutes.
  • PhD candidates, master’s students, and undergraduate students across all fields of study.
  • Teaching staff of educational institutions at all levels, from secondary to higher education.
  • Representatives of public authorities, public figures, and industry experts.

VENUE:

Republic of Kazakhstan, Uralsk, 51 Zhangir Khan Street (NJSC “Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian-Technical University”).

The conference programme includes plenary and panel sessions in both in-person and online formats (connection details will be sent separately to registered participants).

CONFERENCE SECTIONS

On the first day (14 May), a plenary session with invited experts is scheduled. On the second day (15 May), the conference will be organised around the following thematic sections:

Section 1. Ecological Aspects of Climate Change.

Section 2. Economics of Sustainable Development and Clean Technologies.

Section 3. Social Responsibility and Societal Adaptation to New Climate Conditions.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Only original scientific papers that have not been previously published and comply with the thematic scope of the conference will be accepted for publication. The minimum originality threshold is 70% (excluding properly formatted bibliographic references and quotations).

A full originality check report in PDF format must be attached to the manuscript. The Organising Committee accepts reports from recognised services (Antiplagiat, StrikePlagiarism, etc.).

The Organising Committee reserves the right to reject submissions that do not meet the technical requirements, the thematic scope of the conference, the required originality level, or the principles of academic integrity. Articles are published as submitted by the authors; therefore, authors are responsible for thorough proofreading and editing of their texts. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of factual data, the precision of citations, the spelling of names, and compliance with research ethics standards.

By submitting materials for inclusion in the conference proceedings, the author automatically consents to the publication of the work and to the processing of personal data in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Participation in the event and publication in the proceedings are free of charge.

Each author (individually or as a co-author) may submit no more than one paper.

Materials submitted after the deadline or in violation of the formatting requirements will not be reviewed, considered, or returned.

  1. Full text of the paper (formatted according to the requirements).
  2. Participation application form (author information).
  3. Originality report (minimum 70% according to the Antiplagiat system).

ARTICLE FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

Length: minimum 8 pages; font: Times New Roman – 11 pt; margins: 2.5 cm on all sides; paragraph indent: 1.0; line spacing: 1.

Text structure: UDC and MRNTI index,

– author information (surname, initials, academic degree, title; ON A NEW LINE – full name of the institution where the work was carried out, city, country); addresses and sixteen-digit ORCID ID of all authors (indicating the corresponding author);

– title of the paper (in capital letters, bold, 11 pt, Times New Roman, centred); also in English;

– abstract (150–300 words) in the language of the main text and in English; an additional summary in Russian or Kazakh is placed after the References section;

– keywords (italics) – 5 to 10 keywords;

– main text (structure: introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, funding information (if applicable), references);

– references (in accordance with GOST 7.1-2003; at least 20 sources; cited in order of appearance. References in Kazakh are formatted according to the Kazakh alphabet based on the Latin script; references in Russian according to the BGN/PCGN standard).

Figures and tables: must be embedded in the text and include numbering and captions. Maximum: 5 figures and 5 tables.

  • Full name of the author.
  • Status (researcher / student / master’s student / doctoral candidate).
  • Affiliation, address, country.
  • Email address and contact phone number.
  • Supervisor information (if applicable) (full name, degree).
