STUDENT COUNCIL OF STUDENT RESIDENCES

At Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University, there are three student residences:

– Student Residence No. 1 (Zhangir Khan St. 45/1) – 840 places

– Student Residence No. 2 (Zhangir Khan St. 49) – 540 places

– Student Residence No. 3 (Zhangir Khan St. 43) – 560 places

The state service “Provision of Student Housing for Students of Higher Education Institutions” is provided in accordance with the established standard. Students eligible for social benefits are guaranteed accommodation in student residences.

Priority is given to:

– persons with disabilities (including childhood disabilities, Group I and II disabilities);

– children with disabilities;

– orphans and students without parental care;

– compatriots who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Upon moving into the residence, the rights and responsibilities of students are explained in two languages. To ensure safety, a full range of fire-prevention measures is implemented. Living conditions for students have been significantly improved.

Residents have access to internet resources and can actively participate in sports and cultural activities. Faculty members supervise residences on duty, and the work of Student Councils and floor leaders is systematically organized. Various events promoting patriotism, moral values, and a healthy lifestyle are regularly held.

Student Council

The Student Council of Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University represents the active youth of the university. Its main task is not only to maintain cleanliness and order in student residences but also to organize cultural activities (sports events, cultural programs, dance evenings, debates, and entertainment events) to enhance student life.

The Student Council plays an important role in:

– fostering patriotism among youth;

– developing responsibility and leadership;

– supporting comprehensive personal development and self-governance.

For the council members, every resident matters. The Student Council not only facilitates student accommodation but also protects students’ social rights, works to resolve their issues, and collaborates with residence chairpersons and other council members.

The Council organizes meetings with well-known scientists, public figures, and Kazakhstani performers, as well as conferences and discussions on various topics. Therefore, the Higher Student Council holds a special place in youth development.

Goals of the Student Council:

– Implementation of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On State Youth Policy”

– Development of student self-governance

– Strengthening civic responsibility among students living in residences

– Promotion of patriotism among student youth

– Creating conditions for personal and intellectual development for the benefit of society

Functions of the Council:

– Developing and monitoring the annual work plan of the Student Council and residences

– Overseeing decisions regarding student accommodation

– Ensuring the protection of students’ social and legal rights

– Involving students in cultural, social, and university-wide activities

Each student residence has its own chairpersons and floor leaders, responsible for maintaining organization and communication within the residence.
