Objects of research, development or design: Mugaljar horses
The purpose of the project / program: the aim of the project is to identify genomic markers associated with productive traits in mugaljar horses using snp genotyping technology
1 To study genetic diversity of horses of the Mugaljar breed in different regions of Kazakhstan using high-density genotyping:
1.1 Determine the degree of genetic diversity within the breed
2. Identify polymorphisms in the genome regions associated with economically important traits in the Mugaljar horses:
2.1 Identify associations between specific SNPs and productive traits in Mugaljar horses
2.2 Identify genome regions containing SNP markers associated with productive traits
2.3 Perform functional analysis of genes and biological processes associated with the identified genomic markers
3 Identify and propose for use genetic markers associated with the productive qualities of horses of the Mugaljar breed
3.1 Select oligonucleotide sequences containing genetic markers associated with productive qualities of Mugaljar horses
3.2 Make recommendations on the use of genetic markers for selection and improvement of horses of Mugaljar breed
The research project aims to identify genomic markers associated with productive qualities in the Mugaljar horse breed using SNP genotyping technology. The Mugaljar horse breed, known for its resistance to harsh steppe conditions, is a subject of interest because of its outstanding productive characteristics.
The project involves interdisciplinary research, combining knowledge from the fields of genetics, animal science and bioinformatics. Using high-density genotyping, the project aims to investigate the genetic diversity of the breed, identify polymorphisms in genome regions associated with economically important traits, and identify genomic markers associated with productive traits.
The work involves analyzing associations between SNPs and productive traits, as well as functional analysis of genes and biological processes associated with the identified genetic markers. At the end of the project, genetic markers will be proposed for use in the selection and improvement of Mugaljar breed horses.
1. The study of genetic diversity of horses of the Mugalzhar breed in different regions of Kazakhstan will be carried out using high-density genotyping;
2. Polymorphisms associated with economically important traits in horses of the Mugaljar breed will be identified;
3. Genetic markers associated with productive qualities of horses of Mugaljar breed will be determined and proposed for use.
