Project / Program Tasks

To achieve this goal, the following tasks must be solved:

1. Create a new breed of meat ducks.

2. To develop feeding rations for ducks of different age and gender groups.

3. To develop information technologies for automation of the production process in the cultivation of waterfowl.

Today, the task is urgent not only to preserve the numerous diversity of lines, breeds, populations, but also their rational use, both for the production of eggs and meat, and for the creation of new more highly productive breeds and crosses.

Since the development of poultry farming will continue to be based on the use of hybrid poultry obtained as a result of crossing according to certain schemes, it is necessary to constantly work on increasing the heterosis effect based on the compatibility of breeds, crosses and lines.

The share of genotypic diversity in the total variability in most economically useful traits (egg production, precocity, live weight, etc.) is more fully manifested with proper cultivation and full-fledged feeding of poultry.

When growing and keeping linear and hybrid birds under the same conditions, it is possible to determine the relative value of a particular parent breed, line, cross in various crossing combinations and identify effective ways to use data to obtain a highly heterotic bird.

The efficiency of duck meat production largely depends on the payment of feed products, which is also considered an important task. It was believed that live weight selection was the simplest and most effective way to reduce feed costs, although the content of lean meat in the carcass may not increase.

Therefore, the choice of environmental conditions during the rearing of young animals plays an important role in improving the effectiveness of the assessment and selection of poultry for the reproduction of the herd. The “genotype—environment” interaction is defined in a two-factor dispersion complex as the proportion of the influence of a combination of genotypic and environmental factors.

In the structure of the cost of eggs and poultry meat, feed accounts for 60-70%. Reducing feed consumption per unit of production and increasing the efficiency of their assimilation can be achieved: firstly, by using high-quality feed products and proper preparation of feed for feeding; secondly, by using optimal feed recipes for the appropriate groups of poultry and, thirdly, by selecting appropriate feeding regimes and techniques.

Conducting economic analysis is an integral part of the work to optimize production activities and increase profits by improving production performance or by reducing costs.

Analyzing the production performance of a poultry farm is a difficult task. For its successful implementation, it is necessary to solve both the tasks of accounting for poultry stock and daily production indicators (poultry mortality, egg production, poultry slaughter, feed consumption and composition, transfer of poultry from the buildings of the repair young to the buildings of the parent herd, and others), and analysis of vaccination and prevention methods used at the poultry farm.

The purpose of automation, first of all, is to reduce the time spent by the building attendants and the dispatcher on calculating production indicators.

The technical level in the field of poultry farming in the Republic of Kazakhstan requires improvement.

The objectives of this project directly correspond to the strategic objectives of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of agriculture and food security. Improving the quality and efficiency of poultry production contributes to the development of the egg and meat industries and supports the country’s strategic plans to provide food to the national market.

The results will meet the social demand for high-quality eggs and diurnal young, ensuring food safety and supporting the food industry. The economic and industrial interest in the results of the program is manifested in increasing the competitiveness of local producers and their ability to compete in the global market.

Achieved Results and Novelty

To increase the efficiency of poultry production, it is proposed to develop a digital small-sized machine in order to improve the quality and automatic sorting of incubation and commercial eggs. In addition, it is proposed to develop a sound stimulation device, the operation of which during the incubation of waterfowl eggs would ensure accelerated and synchronous withdrawal of daily young and would not only improve product quality, but also reduce human dependence and the likelihood of errors in the production process.

The task is an innovative solution that combines digital technologies with egg production, which makes it unique in the context of existing analogues. The fundamental difference lies in the development of a small-sized machine that not only determines quality indicators, but also automatically sorts eggs, which significantly increases the efficiency and accuracy of production processes.

Existing sorting and quality control methods remain largely manual and human-dependent. The task is a modern solution that will contribute to improving the technical level in this industry.

One of the reserves for increasing efficiency in poultry farming is considered to be the improvement of technological modes of egg incubation. In this direction, an important factor is to ensure accelerated and synchronous withdrawal of daily young in the incubator due to various stimulants, including sound ones.

Thus, automating the egg sorting and quality control processes will reduce the likelihood of human error, as well as ensure that eggs are sorted with high speed and accuracy. The use of a sound stimulation device during incubation will speed up the withdrawal of young animals from eggs.

Expected Results

Direct results.

The end result:

The expected social and economic effect.

The proposed program is in line with the country’s strategic development policy and will make a significant contribution to the poultry industry.

The implementation of the obtained results in the poultry industry will increase the profitability of poultry production by increasing labor productivity, provide new jobs, which will have a social and economic effect.

The expected environmental effect.

This program will not have a negative impact on the environment, will not entail additional adverse factors, since, during its implementation, veterinary and sanitary, zootechnical requirements for the cultivation and maintenance of waterfowl will be observed, and the excreted manure saturated with trace elements and nutrients will be used as a soil fertilizer for growing crops.

Degree of implementation:

After the completion of the project, a mobile application for duck farms (at least 1.0 thousand heads) will be developed, allowing to calculate the cost of poultry livestock; a mobile application for the diagnosis of duck diseases; an experimental sample of a digital small-sized machine for determining quality indicators and automatic sorting of incubation and commercial eggs; a sound stimulation device for synchronizing the output of daily young animals in the hatchery cabinets of the incubator.

Due to these developments in poultry farming, novice entrepreneurs of the poultry industry can avoid many mistakes in poultry breeding, financial losses, and competently plan the need for necessary consumables, thereby increasing the volume of poultry meat production.
