In honor of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan, the West Kazakhstan Agrarian and Technical University named after Zhangir Khan hosted competitions in kazaksha kures among students of universities in the western region of the country for the cup “Zhangir Khan”.
Mirbolat Nurzhanov, Deputy Akim of Uralsk, Askar Nametov, Chairman of the Board -Rector of WKAU, Artur Shergaliev, head of the city Department of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as representatives of sports took part in the opening ceremony of the competition in the Zhangir Khan sports complex.
The teams of M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan University, West Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Technology, Kazakhstan University of Innovation and Telecommunication Systems, West Kazakhstan Medical University participated in the competition.Marat Ospanov (Aktobe), Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov, Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov and our university.
According to the results of the tournament, in the team competition, the wrestlers of the Zhangir Khan ZKATU turned out to be the strongest and worthily won the Zhangir Khan Cup. The second place went to the team of Atyrau University named after H. Dosmukhamedov, and the third place was taken by the West Kazakhstan University named after M. Utemisov.
It is worth noting that the Kazaksha kures competition for the Zhangir Khan Cup was traditionally held earlier among the universities of the region, and this year it was held for the first time between the universities of the western regions of Kazakhstan.
