The meeting was attended by vice-rector for science of Zhangir khan university, candidate of agricultural sciences Alzhan Shamshidin, who led the work of the expert group on foresight in the direction of «Sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex and safety of agricultural products». According to Alzhan Shamshidin, today it is impossible to overestimate the contribution of science to the socio-economic and technological development of any country.  – Thus, in countries with high and medium scientific potential, science contributes to the effective use of knowledge by the country for its economic and social development, while in countries with low scientific potential there is a weak link between science and economic development. Science is the main element in the formation and development of a post-industrial society, a knowledge-intensive and innovative economy, which is confirmed by the experience of technology-leading countries, where research and development, as well as technology and innovation are the core of economic and social development. And foresight, as a fairly practical and flexible tool, is designed to become the basis for determining the priorities of scientific and technical development of Kazakhstan, give a new impetus to its scientific and technological development and increase the country’s share in the global market of high-tech products in the future.
