Today, all Kazakhstanis celebrate a holiday – Thanksgiving Day, which was established in 2016 at the initiative of the First President of the Kazakhstan – Nursultan Nazarbayev. He noted that on this day, representatives of all ethnic groups of the country can thank each other and the Kazakhs for their tolerance and hospitality during the years of deportation to Kazakhstan. Although the holiday is young, today it occupies a special place in a series of other celebrations. It can rightfully be called nationwide, since it symbolizes common historical memory, unity, respect and solidarity.
In honor of this holiday, WKATU students also expressed their gratitude to the people of Kazakhstan. It should be noted that representatives of 16 ethnic groups study at the university – these are Germans, Azerbaijanis, Ukrainians, Chechens and others.
