Model rules for admission to training in educational organizations implementing educational programs of postgraduate education

• Admission of undergraduates, doctoral students of organizations of higher and postgraduate education (hereinafter referred to as OHPE) shall be carried out by placing a state educational order for training personnel in scientific, pedagogical, and specialized areas, as well as paying for training at the expense of students’ own funds and other sources.

The procedure for admission to training in educational organizations implementing educational programs of postgraduate education

• Admission of persons to magistracy, doctoral studies, including targeted training, residency of educational organizations in the field of health care, general education institutions and scientific organizations shall be carried out on a competitive basis, based on the results of comprehensive testing (hereinafter referred to as CT) or entrance examinations.
• Admission of foreigners to magistracy, doctoral studies, and residency shall be carried out on a fee basis. The receipt by foreigners on a competitive basis in accordance with the state educational order of free postgraduate education shall be determined by international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the exception of the scholarship program for master’s programs.
• The admission of foreign citizens to study at the OHPE or scientific organizations on a fee basis shall be carried out according to the results of an interview conducted by the admissions committees of the OHPE or scientific organizations during the calendar year. Enrollment of foreign citizens shall be carried out in accordance with the academic calendar 5 (five) days before the start of the next academic period.
• Educational documents issued by foreign educational organizations shall be recognized or nostrified in accordance with the procedure established by Law in accordance with the Rules for the recognition and convalidation of educational documents approved by Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 10, 2008 No. 8 (registered in the Register of State Registration of Normative Legal Acts under No. 5135).

Documents in a foreign language are provided with a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian.

Educational documents issued by foreign educational institutions shall be nostrified in the manner prescribed by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan after the enrollment of persons during their 1 (first) academic period of study.

Applications for a master’s degree at an OHPE are accepted from applicants by OHPE admission commissions and (or) through the information system from June 15 to July 19 of a calendar year.

The Arabic language entrance examination and creative examinations for those applying for a master’s degree are held at the OHPE from July 20 to 28 of a calendar year.

                Applications for a residency at educational institutions in the field of healthcare, as well as OHPE are accepted by OHPE admission commissions from July 3 to 25 of a calendar year. Entrance examinations are held from August 17 to 22 of a calendar year.

Applications for doctoral studies at OHPE are accepted from July 3 to August 10 of a calendar year. Entrance examinations for groups of educational programs for doctoral studies are held from August 17 to 22 of a calendar year.

Enrollment in doctoral studies is until August 28 of a calendar year.

              Enrollment for a master’s degree is until September 11 of a calendar year.
