A reserve sergeant who has completed a course of military training in the specialty "Engineering, road-building, bridge-building, logging, aerodrome engineering equipment and property" is intended to replace non-commissioned positions in the units and subdivisions of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The reserve sergeant must:

• have a high level of tactical, tactical-special, military-technical and general military training;
• have solid knowledge of basic and specialized disciplines, skills of applying this knowledge in practice;
• be able to maintain high combat and mobilization readiness of the unit, firm military discipline and statutory order.

To know:

• engineering support of modern combined arms combat, organization of work on engineering support of combat;
• purpose, tactical and technical characteristics of engineering equipment;
• the procedure for the use of engineering equipment by engineering units in combined arms combat; protective and camouflage properties of the terrain and their use to protect troops.

Be able to:

• set combat tasks and give the necessary orders to the engineering unit for timely engineering support of combat operations;
• organize and implement measures for fortification equipment and camouflage of troops;
• organize and manage the operation of equipment, armament of the engineering unit.
