Group of educational programs «Crop production»

In 1963, the Faculty of Agroeconomics was created on the basis of West Kazakhstan Agricultural Institute, headed by Associate Professor R.Kh. Myasoutov.

In connection with the increase in the number of agricultural specialties, starting in 1966, the Faculty of Agronomy was created. A lot of energy, knowledge and work in the formation and development of the faculty were invested by the deans-associate professors V.N. Slesarev, V.P. Sogurenko, V.F. Ryaboshkapov, N.V. Savvina, A.Ya. Bakaldin, who graduated from famous Russian universities in Saratov, Volgograd, and Orenburg.

In connection with the opening of new specialties and the increase in the number of students, the Faculty of Agronomy was renamed in 2000 into the Faculty of “Agribusiness and Ecology”, and since 2019 the faculty has been transformed into an agrotechnological institute.

Over the years, the faculty was headed by Kh.Kh. Kusainov, V.V. Vyurkov, S.S. Dzhubatyrova, M.A. Gabdulov, S.Zh. Rakhimgaliyeva, D.K. Tulegenova, A.S. Tlepov and M.K. Onayev.

Since 2024, the traditions of the agronomic faculty have been continued by the teaching staff of the Group of Educational Programs (GEP) “Plant growing”, which includes the educational programs “Agronomy” (Bachelor, Master, PhD), “Soil science and agrochemistry” (Bachelor, Master, PhD), “Plant protection and quarantine” (Bachelor, Master).

The GEP consists of 13 professors and teachers: Doctor of agricultural sciences, professor, and academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nasiyev B.N., candidates of agricultural sciences, associate professors Rakhimgaliyeva S.Zh., Tulegenova D.K., and Candidates of agricultural sciences. Musina M.K., Nurgaliyeva G.K., PhD Kaliyeva L.T., Kushenbekova A.K., Ayupov E.E., Nagiyeva A.G., Zhanatalapov N.Zh., Orynbayev A.T., Masters Kuanaliyeva M.K., Bekkaliyeva A.K. and 3 support staff: senior laboratory assistants G.N. Makanova, G.K. Kabiyeva, laboratory assistant G.M. Umbetova.

 High scientific and pedagogical qualifications of professors and teachers is a tradition for state educational institutions. They consistently and purposefully continue the work of their predecessors and solve new problems of training highly qualified specialists for the agricultural sector and introducing new modern paradigms and education systems into the educational process.
